AVT Simulation Training Center Supports NDIA First Coast Chapter Innovation Event in Jacksonville
The newest chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association, NDIA First Coast Chapter, hosted the Inaugural “Amazing Grace” Innovation Event this week. Inspired by RADM Grace Hopper, a pioneer of cyber innovation and 6th longest serving Naval officer, the event focused on what the future looks like for training, simulation, and technology. Speakers included the Honorable F. Witten Peters, the 19th Secretary of the Air Force, BGen (Ret) Frank Kelley, Vice President of the Defense Acquisition University, General (Ret) Hawk Carlisle, President and CEO of the National Defense Industrial Association, our very own LtCol (Ret) Kyle Crooks, President of AVT Simulation, and many more.
Breakout Innovation tracks were offered on AR & VR, Autonomous Vehicles, Defense Acquisition, and of course Cyber Defense. This was a great event for the AVT Simulation Training Center to reach out to the incredible Jacksonville community. While there, we had the opportunity to engage with many of our industry partners, students from the Unversity of Florida, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and the University of Central Florida, and representatives from many contracting commands of government offices.
This event allowed AVT team members to discuss the innovations in training we will be bringing to the Modeling and Simulation Industry in partnership with the UCF Division of Continued Education. As many speakers and panelists mentioned, some of the greatest threats we face are a shrinking workforce and a lack of options to help existing industry members develop and sharpen their skills. AVT will be offering courses specifically designed to help bring new talent into the industry as well as retrain existing members. Our partnership with UCF will further allow for enhanced opportunities for graduates to fast track into additional course work they discover.
Thanks again to the First Coast Chapter on the amazing work they put in on this first ever event.
