AVT Simulation was pleased to sponsor Hagerty High School’s first Siberian Showdown: Florida FIRST® Tech Challenge (FTC) state qualifying tournament in late January. The FTC competition, which runs from September through February, challenges teams composed of high-school students from across the state to design and build robotic systems using certain software platforms. Students from Miami, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Longwood, and Greater Orlando participated in this event.

The Siberian Showdown was hosted by Hagerty’s Robotics Club Teams #4227 (Kiss-My-Bot) and #4717 (Estrogenius), both of which have qualified for the Championship. Qualifiers from this tournament will go on to compete in the in the Championship being held at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach on Saturday, February 18, 2012.
