AVT Simulation, an Orlando-based Simulation and Training company, is proud to announce that they have received a contract with Rockwell Collins UK to continue their support for the 12 reconfigurable helicopter training systems originally delivered to the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence (MoD) in 2002. Under a subcontract to Rockwell Collins STS, AVT Simulation originally made significant contribution to the design, development and installation of the trainers that support multiple phases of training for the WAH-64 Apache Longbow, Lynx and Squirrel air platforms and consist of the following components:

• 12 Reconfigurable student stations
• IOS, AAR, Mission Planning, Communications
• Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE)
• Tactical simulation with Semi-Automated Forces (SAF)

AVT Simulation developed the flight and weapons models, the avionics and ASE simulation, the crew controls interface, the mission planning system interface, the network and sound system interfaces, the Instructor Operator Station (IOS), portions of the After Action Review (AAR) station and assisted in the overall system integration and test. The training system consists of 12 Crew Trainee (Pilot & Gunner) stations for Collective Tactical Training with full SAF/CGF, mission planning and AAR capabilities in a fixed site configuration.

Under the new contract, AVT Simulation, will perform the following: integration of new targeting and sensor capabilities into the existing WAH-64 trainer, upgrade of the WAH-64 trainer software to support the aircraft 6.2 software version functionality, and the incorporation of increased after action review capability.
