AVT Simulation continues to support the Aviation Command & Tactics Trainer (ACTT) to the UK MOD

AVT Simulation, an Orlando-based Simulation and Training company, is proud to announce that they have received a Phase 6 contract to continue their support for the 12 reconfigurable helicopter training systems originally delivered to the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence (MOD) in 2002. Under a subcontract to Rockwell Collins STS, AVT Simulation originally designed, developed and installed the trainers that support multiple phases of training for the WAH-64 Apache Longbow, Lynx and Squirrel air platforms and consist of the following components:
- 12 Reconfigurable student stations
- IOS, AAR, Mission Planning, Comms
- Defensive Aid Suite
- Tactical simulation with Semi-Automated Forces (SAF)
AVT Simulation developed the flight and weapons models, the avionics and ASE simulation, the crew controls interface, the mission planning system interface, the network and sound system interfaces, the Instructor Operator Station (IOS), portions of the After Action Review (AAR) station and performed the overall system integration and test. The training system consists of 12 Crew Trainee (Pilot & Gunner) stations for Collective Tactical Training with full SAF/CGF, mission planning and AAR capabilities in a fixed site configuration.
Under Phase 6, AVT Simulation, along with its partners 360 Software Corp and Global Simulation Inc. (GSI), will provide the following functionality: an increased visual field-of-view, communication system enhancements, upgraded Lynx instrument panels, Apache Integrated Helmet and Display Sighting Systems (IHADSS) integration and playback, MPD page enhancements, Target Acquisition Designation Sight (TADS) and Fire Control Radar (FCR), and enhancements to the Radio Panels. Over the past five years AVT Simulation has provided hardware and software functionality and enhancements to the student stations and IOS which has included: visual system enhancements such as Out-the-Window (OTW), FLIR and NVG, the TADS, dynamic terrain, special effects such as controllable smoke/rain/snow/sand, seasonal terrain, rotor-wash effects, a United Kingdom and an Afghanistan database, Mission Planning System integration, pilot controls, avionics simulation, flight model, AAR and the IOS.
